Gearing up for June 23

June 23 is getting closer and closer and the mock graduation is going on full steam ahead. We’re looking for people to help spread the word and get people to come and show support. We’re going to need for those of you reading this and interested in helping by telling everyone they know and passing out fliers around their respective communities or schools. This is all to coincide with a national mock graduation taking place in Washington D.C. on the same day. Mock graduations coast to coast. The teams 3rd meeting

Greetings from cyberlandia everyone. The team is picking up more umph and steam going into our 3rd meeting this Wed.  We’re going to be picking up where we left off in the last meeting fine tuning our goals, plans for the end of the month. I still can’t tell you what we’re planning for June 23 but stayed tuned and don’t dispair. Goin’ stronger with each meeting

It seems that with every meeting, the group is getting more organized and energized as we start planning and making a list of objectives. What are they you ask ? Well I can’t tell ya. As much as a loud mouth that I am, I can’t tell ya what happened at the meeting because I’d rather have you there.  Ok I’ll throw you a bone. The team is planning on helping out with the mock graduation that is taking place June 23 in Washington D.C.

If you’re on that side of the country I encourage you to sign and and participate anyway you can. The more hands there are the better. That’s all I can say for now. If you want more you gotta keep comin’ back. Kinda like crack. With that being said, our next meeting is this Wednesday at our super secrete location or as I like to call it, the Avengers Mansion. If you’re reading this and you’re interested in coming to the meetings and participating, shoot me over an email at dreamteamlosangeles@gmail.com and I’ll send you the information. Ohhh one other thing the group is working on is a logo for the team. If you happen to have any good ideas, email them and we might use your design for buttons, shirts and maybe even stickers.

Next meeting

will be today. Hmm… I’m realizing that I should have posted information about it much sooner. Errr… well in the future I will make sure to post meeting dates. We’re working on setting up an offficial email so if anyone has questions about the group or wants to be involved will have a way to reach the group. I would give out mine but I don’t wan’t spammers hitting me up with random emails. I get enough of that already. Anyway stayed tuned for information and updates about what the group is up to and some of the actions we have planned ahead. in the mean time I’ll be posting more info about the Dream Act. The Dream Team LA

Welcome to The Dream Team LA blog. After just literally getting out of the first meeting at the UCLA Labor Center in Downtown L.A., we’re hitting the ground running. First meetings always consist of setting up a structure and planning out what we’re going to be doing in the future, which is actually very soon so stay tuned folks. Speaking for myself, I’m super stoked to be part of such a great group of like minded individuals who all have accomplished great things on their own and with other groups at their perspective schools and organizations.

This blog will help keep people updated on informational things such as meeting times and locations, news heard around the grape vine about the DREAM Act, events happening around town etc. So You can be sure I’ll be updating the blog frequently. So, until I discuss the fine details of what the purpose of this blog with the rest of the team, I’ll keep you guys posted on what we’re up to.

So a little about the group and what we’re up to:

1. Collaborate and plan actions supporting the DREAM Act.
2. Keep organizations updated and support member organizations
3. Be open to all individuals seeking to pass the DREAM Act.
4. We seek the support and initiative of students, parents, teachers, counselors, community leaders and others who would like to help this cause.

On a totally different and personal side note, the whole time I was sitting there, throwing ideas back and forth about what we’re going to be doing, I was thinking in my head, this so reminds me of the Avengers.
